Notes about this Mock-up & Design Principles
Web design which encourages user engagement reflects certain "standard" principles. A few of them are:
- Every page has a similar appearance - color scheme, fonts, layout, etc.
- I (your web-servant) tend to lean towards a more minimalist design - simple, crisp, few gimmicks (fly-ins, flashing buttons, etc.)
- Every page has a clearly defined header and footer
- Navigation menus are found in the headers and footers
- Internal links to other parts of the website are formatted the same way throughout (either as the link address https://aacji.org/meetings OR (preferred) as a clickable button or highlighted text.
- Content groups like-content with like content -example: All information about meetings (downloadable list, meeting finder apps, meeting specific announcements) should be grouped on the same page, when practical.
- The Home page (also known as the landing page) should be a welcoming gateway to the rest of the site. Here is where the most important information will be found. Some information from other pages may be duplicated on the home page.
What is Intergroup?
Intergroup serves the local AA community by providing services such as the AA Telephone Helpline, printing meeting lists, maintaining the website, etc. It is made up of volunteers from the local AA groups and has several service committees. The Intergroup Committees & What They Do:
Officers
Intergroup elects all "trusted Servants" to serve a two-year term. The "executive servants are the Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Secretary, and treasurer.

- Co-Chair is Mike K - his home group is the God Only Knows Group

Web Servant
The Web Servant and Website Committee is responsible for maintaining the website and other digital assets, maintaining the meeting lists, printing the meeting lists, maintaining the announcement page, etc.
- Web Servant is Tom D - his homegroup is Snap Back to Sobriety.
- Committee members include Todd D (prior Web Servant. More helpers are welcomed.
